The project brief was to design a new commercial front extension to the existing Ashish Plaza Hotel located on a busy one way road.
The brief involved designing Banquet Halls with a roof top restaurant and a showroom on the ground level with multi level car parking to accommodate approx.
100 cars.
The concept was to challenge the old blank look of the existing building and explore the use of intricate jali as a screening element on the west facing façade.
The purpose of jali was not only to minimize the impact of the harsh afternoon sun but at the same time also to introduce intricate elements on an otherwise plain façade, thus adding to the festive look during evenings associated with the banquet halls.
